Privacy Policy
Effective November 4, 2026.
This policy explains what information Wicklund for Congress ("we") collects on wicklundforcongress.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, use the contact form on this site.
What we collect and why
- Information you give us in forms. When you fill out a form (for example to contact us or request information), we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, and your message. We use it to respond to you and, where you have asked us to, to keep in touch.
- Spam protection. Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a form is being sent by a person and not an automated program. It collects information about your device and how you use the page, under Google's privacy policy and terms of service. Submissions that look automated are not delivered and are kept only in a short internal log for up to 90 days.
- Screening form messages. The text of messages sent through our forms is sent to an AI service provider that checks whether it is an unsolicited sales pitch. Your name, phone number, and street address are not included.
- Usage information. Like almost every website, we measure how the site is used: which pages are viewed, roughly where visits come from, and how far pages are read. Details are in the cookies and analytics section below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and analytics
We use first-party analytics, meaning measurement done by the site itself rather than by an advertising network. These cookies identify a browser with a random id; they do not contain your name or contact details:
_tss_vid: a random visitor id (2 years), so return visits are counted as one visitor rather than many._tss_sid: a random session id (30 minutes, sliding), so one browsing session is counted once._tss_first: how you first found the site, for example a search engine or a link (2 years).
To understand how pages are actually used, the site also records anonymous interaction measurements during a visit: where the pointer moves, what is clicked, and how far pages are scrolled, as coordinates on the page. This never includes anything you type. No keystrokes, no form contents, no screen recording.
How long we keep information
We keep the information described above for as long as we have a genuine use for it: form messages and order records for as long as our relationship and legal obligations require, and usage measurements for trend analysis over time. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless a legal obligation (for example tax records for orders) requires keeping a specific part of it.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- correct it,
- delete it, including any analytics records tied to your visits,
To exercise any of these, use the contact form on this site. Depending on where you live, these rights may be backed by law (for example the GDPR in Europe); we honor them for everyone regardless.
